Competent system Design is key to the satisfactory protection
of Life and Property from Fire. Time invested on the Design
of a Fire Detection and Alarm System will ensure that;
-
The ignition of a Fire is detected early, thus reducing
exposure to risk, and
-
The likelihood of unwanted alarms is minimised.
It is estimated
that an average of 475000 unwanted alarms occur each year through
poorly designed and maintained Fire Detection and Alarm Systems.
Swithland’s
Accreditation to BAFE SP203 for design ensures that the comprehensive
system design not only meets the needs of the client but
also complies with current Codes of Practice and Industry Standards.
Swithland provides
a “Bespoke ” Design service encompassing all
elements needed to promote a Fire Detection and Alarm System
that is “Fit
for Purpose” and includes;
-
Site Inspections
-
Review of Building plans and proposed layouts
-
The Building use
-
Identifying particular Risk areas and specific Hazards
-
Attention to the Building fabric and architecture
Fire
Detection and Alarm Systems are categorised to give varying
levels of automatic Detection throughout the premises and
our Design Engineers can tailor the system design to suit
both the level you require and comply with the Code of Practice.
If the level of Detection has already been specified then
our Design Engineers will provide a system design in accordance
with that specification.
A
correctly designed & engineered system will ensure a greater
protection from the risk of fire, whilst reducing unwanted alarms
and ensuring compliance with RRFO & Building Regulations.
